The Tiffin Tin

What\’s in your lunchbox?

Before. After.

with 5 comments

Before:  Kiwis and purple grapes, some vanilla yogurt in the little dip container, turkey and cheddar roll-ups, and cheez-its (a nod to all that’s compelling about fake, orange food).  About 2/3 a bottle of half water/half orange juice.  All those baguette slices?  The kids in Tiniest Tiffin’s class love baguette.  And they never get to eat it.  He’s their new supplier.  At least today anyway.

After:  a couple of kiwis and a stray baguette are all that’s left.  Plus about 1/4 of the juice/water mixture.   It’s a mess, huh?  He either doesn’t know how to put the cap back on the little yogurt container or he’d rather not do it.  The good news is that the whole thing cleans up just like new.

  1. Aw, I love the after shot. That was one hungry little guy. It must make your heart beat proudly that he likes his healthy food and eats so well.

  2. Where do you get the marvelous little sets of boxes from? Dudelet goes off to the childminders with a Frankenstein’s set of take-away Thai microwave containers, sandwich boxes and little tubs covered in tin foil because we’ve lost the lids. He deserves better!

  3. I am jealous. It’s no longer “cool” to have a lunchbox. The “cool” kids now carry brown paper bag, so that they can easily toss it in the rubbish bin before running out to play. I honestly have no idea what my kids are actually eating for lunch.

  4. Now I know they are purple grapes, not blueberries — but it did remind me that a few blueberries with other fruit is better than no blueberries at all! They are so expensive here right now, and the kids love them. This week I sliced up some perfectly ripe mangos and topped them with 10 or so blueberries in each of the three lunchboxes.
